AIA Spokane will not be having a January Chapter Meeting, but look for upcoming information on the February meeting which will include a tour of the SIERR Building at McKinstry Station.

2012 AIA Spokane Design Awards – Call for Entries

The requirements & submission form for the 2012 AIA Spokane Design Awards Call for Entries have been posted & the deadline for entries is January 26th, 2012. The 2012 AIA Spokane Design Awards are divided into three categories which include “Built Projects over $1 million construction costs”, “Built Projects under $1 million construction costs” and “Unbuilt Projects”, each of which has its own unique requirements, deadlines & judging criteria. Entries must have been completed between March 31st, 2006 & March 31st, 2012 and must have been designed by an AIA or AIA Associate of Spokane. Dave Huotari elected to AIA|WA Council

AIA Spokane is proud to share the news that past board president Dave Huotari, AIA (ALSC Architects) has been elected to the office of 2012 President-Elect at AIA Washington Council. Dave is slated to serve as President of the Council during the 2013 calendar year. Thanks to Dave for his continued involvement with AIA.

The AIA Spokane Nominating Committee has meet and as required by the AIA Spokane bylaws, will share their proposed officers and directors selection for the 2012 AIA Spokane Board. Thanks to the nominating committee for their work.

2011 Mayor’s Urban Design Awards – Call for Entries

Entry submissions for the 2011 Mayor’s Urban Design Awards are due by noon on Monday, August 1st, 2011. The Mayor’s program began in 2007 and it recognizes Spokane City’s Comprehensive plan through good urban design and encourages creatively designed projects. Projects must have been completed (more…)

2012 AIA National Honor Awards – Call for Entries

The requirements & submission form for the 2012 AIA Honor Awards Call for Entries have been posted & the deadline for entries is August 26th, 2011. The 2012 AIA Honor Awards are divided into three categories which include Architecture, Interior Architecture & Urban Design, each of which has its own unique requirements, deadlines & judging criteria. Entries must have been completed previously to January 1st, 2005 and must have been designed by an US registered architecture. 2011 Northwest & Pacific Region Design Awards Call for Entries

For those of you who sent the Call for Entries form in by July 8th to be entered for this year’s Northwest & Pacific Region Design Awards, you must now get your project submittal uploaded to the region’s FTP site by July 22nd. This year’s 2011 Northwest & Pacific Region Design Awards reception will be held in Tokyo during the 2011 Region conference (November 13th-16th, 2011). 2011 Green Home Nominations

Northwest EcoBuilding Guild is now taking nominations for its 2011 Green+Solar Home & Landscape Tour. Submissions are due by this Friday, July 15th 2011 and those nominated will be contacted by July 21st. Although the tour will be on Sunday, September 18th, The selected residential projects do not need to be completed by this time.
