Architects, Engineers and Building officials are encouraged to attend. The Safety Assessment Program utilizes volunteers and mutual aid resources to provide professional engineers, architects and certified building inspectors to assist local governments in safety evaluation of their built environment in the aftermath of a disaster. Rachel Minnery, AIA, is the chair of the National AIA’s Disaster Assistance Task Force and will be the instructor for this program. Rachel has led groups of volunteer architects to disaster-stricken places including Haiti and Mississippi and co-founded Architects Without Borders Seattle in 2005.
